ONTARIO, Calif., Oct. 26, 2026
ONTARIO, Calif., Oct. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Ontario International Airport (ONT) has earned one of North America’s highest honors for airport communications, winning the top award for Newsletter Campaigns at the Airports Council International-North America (ACI-NA) 2026 Marketing, Communications and Customer Service Awards in Seattle.
The award recognizes the airport’s transformation of Inside ONT, its public newsletter, into a more dynamic, engaging and interactive platform for sharing airport news, travel information and stories about the people and communities ONT serves.
The honor is particularly significant because the Newsletter Campaigns category is open to airports of all sizes, placing ONT in competition with some of the largest airports in the United States and Canada.
“An airport’s connection to its community extends far beyond the terminal, and we’ve made it a priority to strengthen that relationship in everything we do,” said Eren Cello, senior vice president of communications and marketing for the Ontario International Airport Authority. “Inside ONT gives us another opportunity to share our story, celebrate the people who make this airport special and keep our passengers and neighbors connected to an airport that belongs to them. To see that work recognized at the highest level in North America is a tremendous honor for our team.”
Launched in September 2025 under the leadership of Brooke Staggs, ONT’s communications and public relations manager, the redesigned newsletter combines a fresh visual identity with expanded content and new opportunities for reader engagement.
Among the enhancements are practical travel tips, connections to ONT’s popular ONTo the Next Destination blog and social media channels, and interactive trivia that helps readers discover more about the airport and its services. The redesign also doubled the newsletter’s publishing frequency, from every other month to monthly, providing subscribers with a more consistent source of timely information.
The result is a publication that goes beyond traditional airport announcements, bringing together useful travel information, airport developments and stories that reflect ONT’s growing role in the Southern
ONT also was a finalist in these ACI-NA categories:
Partnering with Carriers, for the celebration of China Airline’s 1 millionth passenger throughOntario.
Website, for the ONTo the Next Destination blog.
Overall PR Program (Medium Airports), for the Decade of Local Control Campaign.
Customer Experience through People, for My CX (Shift Shadow) program.
Overall Customer Experience Program, for the ONT x UCLA Athletics “Champions Fly Here” activation.
The recognition comes as ONT approaches the 10th anniversary of its return to local control on November 1, a milestone that has helped define the airport’s evolution into one of the nation’s fastest-growing aviation gateways. Throughout that transformation, ONT has placed an increasing emphasis on strengthening relationships with its passengers, business partners and surrounding communities.
ACI-NA’s annual awards program recognizes excellence and innovation in airport marketing, communications and customer service. This year’s competition attracted more than 400 entries across its various categories, reflecting the growing sophistication and creativity of airport communications throughout North America.
For ONT, the latest recognition adds to a growing collection of industry honors and reinforces the airport’s commitment to delivering an exceptional experience both inside and outside its terminals.
