The new warehouse also enables the Waller Aftermarket Service Center (nearby to the Hockley Service Warehouse) to reclaim approximately 30% of its existing floor space, allowing for the installation of additional machining capacity and the expansion of maintenance services.
Prime location
Larry Sumrall, Head of Supply at Burckhardt Compression, explains: “Hockley was selected for its strategic location close to the existing service center, minimizing transit time between facilities and ensuring rapid access to parts needed for ongoing manufacturing and service work. The warehouse will receive weekly international shipments, many of which contain components essential for production at the Waller Service Center.”
The warehouse holds a comprehensive inventory of compressor parts used across the downstream and midstream energy sectors, as well as accessory components required for engine repairs and midstream applications. This includes the TrueGem™ parts brand, which supports operators of Gemini reciprocating compressors with the rapid supply of spare parts and maintenance kits.
Once fully stocked, the Hockley hub will support all Burckhardt Compression service centers, field service teams and customers directly, centralizing inventory currently stored across six locations in the U.S.
Enhanced customer benefits
By consolidating stock into a single U.S. hub, Burckhardt Compression is better positioned to respond to local market needs. The centralized inventory will allow faster more efficient distribution of parts.
The streamlined storage model is expected to significantly improve customer experience using the company’s dedicated logistics network to enable faster access to a wider range of parts. The company also anticipates quicker turnaround times at service locations as their workshop capacity can be increased.
For parts in stock, including the TrueGem line, most orders can be shipped the same day. Specialist components will continue to depend on capacity at Burckhardt Compression’s manufacturing sites, with lead times varying by complexity.
A more efficient future
Alvaro Grande, Head of Services US for Burckhardt Compression, comments: “The new warehouse is fully integrated with the company’s internal systems allowing the global family of Burckhardt Compression companies to have visibility of our inventory. This enables the customers to receive the best support in terms of parts availability and service delivery.”
With its new Hockley facility, Burckhardt Compression is making a long-term investment in efficiency, reliability and customer service. The company expects the hub to strengthen its ability to support customers, streamline procurement and enhance operational performance across the energy sector for years to come.
