ITC Federal Acquires Apriva ISS, Adding FBI Prime Position and Two Decades of Classified Communications Engineering

ITC Federal (ITC), a mission-focused IT solutions and enterprise services provider to federal law enforcement, homeland security and defense agencies, today announced it has acquired Apriva ISS, a division of Phoenix, Arizona-based Apriva, LLC. Apriva ISS provides secure classified mobility and communications solutions and will operate as ITC-ISS, a division of ITC Federal.

ITC-ISS brings a mature set of fielded solutions to the national security and law enforcement missions, including secure gateway and virtual private network products, management and monitoring software for deployed devices and authentication software that extends credentialed access to ruggedized field hardware. Its work allows cleared personnel to reach classified networks from a field office, a vehicle or a forward location over cellular, Wi-Fi or satellite on commercial devices.

The team also delivers NSA Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) registration and verification, high-assurance system engineering, PKI services and secure voice and data design.

“ITC Federal is deeply committed to the law enforcement mission. Our acquisition of Apriva ISS will strengthen these relationships, especially at agencies like the FBI. The people, expertise and real, fielded solutions offered by ITC-ISS are based on twenty years building classified communications for the most demanding environments in government. Expertise like that does not come on the market often,” said Greg Fitzgerald, CEO, ITC Federal. “ITC-ISS brings CSfC depth and DOD experience to better support every customer we serve.”

Classified communication is heading into a significant modernization cycle. NSA is updating CSfC Capability Packages to require the CNSA 2.0 quantum-resistant algorithm suite, and new national security system acquisitions are expected to support CNSA 2.0 beginning in 2027. Agencies need partners who understand both the accreditation path and the field conditions these solutions have to survive. ITC-ISS has done that work since the early days of the CSfC program, and ITC Federal intends to invest behind it.

“Our standard has always been straightforward: deliver secure communications that work wherever the mission takes our customers. That commitment will not change. Joining ITC Federal gives us the scale, resources and investment to build on more than two decades of trusted performance while expanding our impact across the Department of Defense, intelligence community and federal law enforcement,” said Brian McElroy, SVP and General Manager, ITC-ISS. “Together, we are creating new opportunities for our people, accelerating innovation for our customers and strengthening a capability that is more important than ever to national security missions.”

Since 2004, Apriva ISS has engineered secure voice and data communications for the Department of Defense, the intelligence community, federal law enforcement and allied partners. The company has been an NSA CSfC Trusted Integrator since 2015 and holds a prime contract position at the FBI.

The business joined ITC Federal on September 1. ITC-ISS will operate under existing leadership, with its engineering base in Phoenix. ITC will provide business development, contracts, finance, HR and recruiting support, while ITC-ISS engineers and program leadership will remain, so the team stays focused on mission work. Financial terms were not disclosed.
