TensorWave, the all-AMD AI cloud specializing in high-performance, memory-intensive workloads, today announced four executive appointments as the company continues to scale its infrastructure and operations. Kathleen Simon has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer, Aaron Baker has been promoted to Chief Data Center Officer, and Shawn Novak and JP Buzzell join the company as Chief Revenue Officer and Executive Vice President of Cluster Engineering and Delivery, respectively.
“Scaling AI infrastructure is an execution challenge as much as a technology one,” said Darrick Horton, CEO and Co-Founder of TensorWave. “Our customers need large-scale AMD Instinct GPU capacity delivered reliably and on schedule, and that depends on the people doing the work behind the scenes. Kathleen and Aaron have been central to building TensorWave into what it is today, and both Shawn and JP bring the data center experience to help us deliver at the scale our customers are asking for. I’m proud to have this team in place for the growth ahead.”
Kathleen Simon moves from Executive Vice President of Finance to Chief Financial Officer, after two and a half years building the financial infrastructure behind TensorWave’s growth. Joining TensorWave in its earliest days, Simon built and scaled the function from the ground up, developing the team, systems, processes, and financial discipline needed to support the company’s rapid expansion. Simon previously rose from Controller to EVP of Finance & Accounting at Influential, scaling its finance organization as the company grew into an acquisition by Publicis Groupe in 2024. As CFO, she will guide long-term business strategy and oversee operational discipline.
Aaron Baker has been promoted from Vice President of AI Infrastructure to Chief Data Center Officer, bringing deep experience in hyperscale data center development and construction. Baker previously led new regions development and preconstruction for Meta’s Global Infrastructure, helping expand one of the world’s largest data center footprints. As Chief Data Center Officer, he will lead strategy, budgets, operations, and growth for TensorWave’s data centers, scaling them to meet business and AI demand.
Shawn Novak joins TensorWave as Chief Revenue Officer, bringing more than two decades of experience at the intersection of data centers, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise growth. He most recently served as a Managing Director at EY, helping lead the firm’s data center practice. Prior to EY, he served as Executive Vice President of Strategic Solutions at Switch, where he helped drive strategic growth and hyperscale customer engagement across the company’s national data center portfolio. He also held a leadership role within CBRE’s Data Center Solutions Group, advising enterprises on mission-critical infrastructure and cloud strategy. As CRO, he’ll focus on accelerating enterprise adoption, deepening customer relationships, and building the commercial strategy for TensorWave’s next phase of growth.
JP Buzzell joins TensorWave as Executive Vice President, Cluster Engineering and Delivery, with a background in designing and delivering hyperscale AI infrastructure. Buzzell was most recently Vice President and Data Center Chief Architect at Eaton, and previously led data hall design for Oracle’s OCI Superclusters and helped bring greenfield hyperscale campuses online at Meta. He also serves as Power Distribution Co-Lead for the Open Compute Project and was named a 2025 iMasons IM100 honoree. At TensorWave, he will lead end-to-end cluster engineering and delivery, from design through deployment.
These appointments come as TensorWave rapidly scales both its team and AI infrastructure footprint. With employee growth already up 96% compared with last year, the company is adding the engineering, operational, and financial depth needed to execute against an increasingly ambitious data center roadmap. That includes publicly announced capacity expansions across Arizona and Pennsylvania sites and at Fermi’s Project Matador campus in Carson County, Texas.
These investments, along with the company’s $350 million Series B in June, build the technical and operational foundation needed to bring more AMD-powered AI infrastructure online at speed and at scale.
