Experienced franchise finance executive to support franchisee profitability and Always Best Care’s next phase of growth

ROCKLIN, Calif., Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Always Best Care Senior Services, a leading provider of non-medical in-home care and senior living referral services with 295 independently owned and operated locations across the U.S. and Canada, has appointed Jason Shontz, CPA, as Chief Financial Officer. Shontz brings nearly 20 years of financial leadership experience across public companies, private equity-backed businesses, venture-backed organizations and high-growth companies.

Shontz joins Always Best Care from The Joint Corp., a publicly traded chiropractic franchisor with nearly 1,000 locations nationwide, where he served as Vice President of Finance. He led financial planning and analysis, supported investor relations and guided capital allocation decisions. Working closely with company leadership, he also helped shape unit economics, long-range planning and the refranchising of corporate-owned clinics.

For Shontz, the move to Always Best Care also carries a personal connection. His father, who turns 90 this year, relies on non-medical in-home care for both practical support and companionship.

Shontz joins Always Best Care as the company enters its next phase of growth in partnership with NexPhase Capital. As Chief Financial Officer, he will help support franchise development, strengthen franchisee profitability and build on the financial tools and insights needed to support continued expansion.

Before joining The Joint Corp., Shontz held senior finance leadership positions at CoinFlip, Buildout and Wyzant. During his tenure at Wyzant, he helped guide the company through several years of venture-backed growth and contributed to its successful sale in 2021. Earlier in his career, he worked in transaction advisory and financial due diligence at KPMG and Ernst & Young.

Shontz holds a Master of Science in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in accounting and finance from the University of Arizona. He is a CPA in Arizona.
